Israeli Military Commander Apologises

An Israeli Navy commander has apologised for tarnishing the military’s image.  Apparently he has recognised that his actions have ‘hurt the IDF’s moral standing’, and has been reprimanded.

You would be forgiven for thinking that this turn of events might just have something to do with the horrific decimation of Gaza which we’ve recently witnessed.

But no. What this actually boils down to is Admiral Eli Marom being caught in a strip club. Yes, the IDF – which has recently been burning people alive with white phospherous – is worried that its image might be tarnished by one of its top guys hanging out in a place of ill repute. Perhaps one day – when the IDF begins  apply its grand capacity for moral self-criticism to such mundane matters as life and death – the Middle East might become a better and safer place.
