		<description>Very true - and astonishing that this policeman didn&#039;t see the problem with the police effectively making a political decision to downplay the number of protestors.

I suspect this reflects an attitude of police vs. protestors (which of course is by no means confined to the police) whereas in a democratic society the police&#039;s role should be to ensure that protests are safe and lawful, in other words to &lt;i&gt;facilitate&lt;/i&gt; peaceful protest.</description>
