Goodnight and Thank You
It’s official. Following our stunning debut at #14 in the Left of Centre charts, The Third Estate has stormed into the top 100 UK political blogs at #47. Thank you to everyone who voted for us, and congratualtions to all the other blogs that made the grade.
Of course, at the end of the day, as Jim Jay and Peter Snow are fond of saying, it’s just a bit of fun. And there are many people out there who would question the legitimacy of this poll, even with LabourList and LibDem Voice joining Conservative Iain Dale’s sponsorship this year round. Certainly there was no sponsorship from the myriad Green or left of Labour blogs, and Liberal Conspiracy’s withdrawal from the proceedings is a noteable absence of an excellent and extremely popular blog.
But, with over 1500 people voting for 940 different blogs, I for one am very proud of our entry, just 6 months after our launch, at #47. With 300-400 daily unique visitors and over 2000 regular readers, we have, I think, a very loyal readership and you all deserve our thanks for sticking by our inane ramblings. We have some great content coming up, including an exclusive interview with Green Party leader, Caroline Lucas MEP on Friday, and next week I will be interviewing environmental activist and Guardian journalist, George Monbiot. Stay tuned!

Well done guys, a Conservative blogger I may be, but I really enjoy reading the posts on your site – a great and well deserved achievement by you all. Keep up the good work.
ps – my blog was 297th!!
Thanks Oberon. Congratulations to you too, you deserved much higher. I like your blog much better than a lot of the stuff on this list, including a good few MPs.
You, chappies, are doing well!
Still that list is a bit strange, for the omissions and inclusions
eg. The Exile, more walking towards the Far Right, than anything “left”
Yeah, I’ve seen Exile’s comments on other blogs, I’m slightly sceptical as well.
Yay, that’s awesome! Well done guys!
