Sign up for the 10:10 campaign

10:10 is a campaign against climate change being launched today by the people behind The Age of Stupid, asking individuals and organisations to pledge to reduce their CO2 emissions by 10% in 2010. Ian Katz discusses it in more detail for The Guardian here. Yes it’s not enough. Yes, real change can only come when national governments act together at a global level, as they will in all likelihood completely fail to do at Copenhagen in December. But it’s a start. So sign up and stop whinging.

I agree it’s nowhere near enough, but it is a start. Signed.

ugh. greenwash all the way. the bastard’s even invited E.ON. Plane Stupid > Age of Stupid > Not Stupid = a completely stupid campaign that believes pandering to big business will solve the climate crisis. ugh.

As I understand it, the campaign was set up because a 10% reduction in CO2 emissions between now and the end of next year is necessary for the UK to go on to make the required much larger cuts over the next few decades. How would you suggest doing that, as an alternative to 10:10?
