That is to say - a sloppy, assumptive and inflexible adoption of a series of mirages which have been vomited by the mass media intelligentsia. As if anyone really needs to hear from Belle de Jour, or indeed from a pair of Mensa-ish neoliberals like Hitch or Dawkins. The last thing I want is Hitchens 'extending his rigid solidarity' anywhere near me. Please, a little realism. It's not as if everyone who does not read The Sun desperately needs to spend all their time thinking about the same things as all the other clever types.
